APPLICATION GUIDELINES
Teachers are invited to submit an application for funding directly to the STEM Camp Foundation, based on the following guidelines:
- The operating year of the STEM Camp Foundation runs from September 1 to August 31.
- Applications must be submitted to the STEM Camp Foundation by midnight on either September 30 or February 28. All applications must be completed using the online application portal.
- Successful applicants will be notified the following month after each application deadline: by October 31 for September submissions and by March 31 for February submissions.
- Applicants are welcome to re-apply each year, regardless of whether their application was previously successful or not. However, there is no guarantee that funding will be awarded for consecutive years. Applications that have been rejected once may be re-submitted in their original form.
- Applications must be completed accurately and thoroughly. The STEM Camp Foundation reserves the right to reject any application that is incomplete or does not align with the Foundation’s mission.
- Grants will be awarded to teachers who contribute to advancing the understanding of STEM education for both teachers and students. Please note that awards may be restricted to regions where STEM Camp operates summer camp sites across Ontario.
FUNDING ELIGIBILITY
The STEM Camp Foundation will grant funds to teachers to carry out STEM Projects within an elementary school during the course of any one school academic year. Grants are awarded up to a maximum of $500, per application.
Note: Only fully certified teachers may apply for a grant and all applications must conform to the Application Guidelines above.
EXAMPLES OF PROJECTS WE WILL FUND
STEM Club Startup
A teacher aims to establish a new STEM Club at their elementary school. The STEM Camp Foundation will provide seed funding to help launch and support the volunteer-led club.
STEM Award
A school seeks to present a one-time award to a student who has excelled in the classroom or within a STEM Club and demonstrates potential to pursue a future career in a STEM field.
STEM Grant
A student with a strong interest in STEM studies wants to undertake a STEM activity they can share with peers, either in the classroom or during an after-school STEM Club event.
STEM Contest
A teacher plans to organize a STEM contest and would like to award the winner with a monetary prize to inspire them to continue pursuing a future in a STEM-related career.
STEM Creative Idea
A student seeks financial assistance to work on a creative STEM project or idea independently. The funds will help purchase supplies for exploring an original and/or innovative concept, as recommended by their teacher.
REPORTING REQUIREMENTS
Teachers who successfully receive grant funding are required to submit the following to the STEM Camp Foundation within four weeks of completing the approved project or activity (as indicated by the “End Date” in their original grant application):
- Photos of the project or activity. Ensure parental permission has been obtained for any identifiable photos of children. If permission is not available, submit photos that do not show faces.
- A one-page report describing of the approved project or activity.
Failure to meet these reporting requirements will render the applicant ineligible for future grants.

The guidelines above are not all encompassing and final decisions on awards is reserved to be at the sole discretion of the STEM Camp Foundation. Teachers may apply for grants as often as they wish, however, there is no guarantee that grants will be awarded to a particular applicant, or awarded more than once.
